Getting started

Which apps does StudioFeel work with?

Everything Android routes through the system mixer — which is nearly everything: Spotify, YouTube & YouTube Music, Prime Video, JioHotstar, Sony LIV, podcast players, games, browsers. On the phone, Netflix works too. Phone calls are excluded by Android itself. Works system-wide when a Bluetooth speaker or headphones are connected as well.

Does StudioFeel need root, or drain my battery?

No root — StudioFeel uses Android’s standard audio-effect chain on any Android 10+ phone or Android TV. The DSP rides the same hardware path your music already takes, so battery impact is negligible; you won’t find it in your battery stats making trouble.

Is there a Windows version?

Coming soon — StudioFeel for Windows PC (Windows 10 & 11) is in the works. Android phone and Android TV are live today.

How do I change the app language?

StudioFeel speaks 35 languages. On the phone: Settings tab → Language. On the TV it follows your TV’s system language automatically.

“The EQ isn’t changing my sound”

On the phone — the checklist.

1) The big power toggle is ON. 2) Allow background activity: phone Settings → Battery → StudioFeel → allow background activity — aggressive battery savers pause the audio service, and this fixes most “it stopped working” reports. 3) Only one EQ can own the system audio session: if Wavelet, JamesDSP, FxSound, Boom or an OEM Dolby/DTS enhancer is active, StudioFeel shows a one-tap diagnostic banner — disable the other one. 4) Still silent in one app? A few games ship their own audio engine; try any music app to confirm the chain works.

On a TV box (NVIDIA Shield, Mi Box, Fire TV Stick…) — the passthrough trap.

When the box is set to Dolby/DTS passthrough (often called “Auto”), it hands the untouched bitstream straight to your TV or receiver — the Android mixer, where every equalizer lives, never sees the audio. Fix: in the box’s sound settings choose PCM / Stereo, switch off extra Dolby processing (on Shield: disable NVIDIA’s Dolby processing), and play from apps installed on the box itself — not from the TV’s own apps arriving over HDMI. Listeners on Shield, Mi Box and similar boxes confirm the EQ comes alive the moment passthrough is off.

Netflix on Android TV?

Not yet — and here’s the honest reason: on Android TV, Netflix uses a tunnelled audio path (direct HW_AV_SYNC) that bypasses all audio processing, StudioFeel’s or anyone’s. On the phone, Netflix works normally.

It distorts when I push the volume. What’s the right setup?

Keep Dynamic Gain Scaler ON — it pre-tames your preset’s peaks so the limiter never has to slam. Raise the system or TV volume to maximum first, then use Volume Boost only for genuinely quiet content or to go beyond the system’s ceiling — it’s a rocket, not a volume knob. On a TV, if distortion somehow persists, restart the TV once.

TV & the phone remote

How do I pair my phone with my TV?

Open StudioFeel on the TV. On the phone — same Wi-Fi — open the TV EQ Remote tab: your TV appears under “TVs found”. Tap it, type the pairing code shown on the TV, done. It’s one-time; from then on the phone reconnects by itself — after TV restarts, after you switch apps, after you walk back into Wi-Fi range.

My TV doesn’t show up in the list.

Three checks: both devices on the same Wi-Fi network name; the StudioFeel TV app actually open on the TV; and your router not running AP/client isolation (some routers block device discovery — look for that setting). A TV restart clears most stubborn cases. Don’t have the TV app yet? The same page has a Google Play link that installs it to your Android TV straight from the phone.

What can the remote control, exactly?

Everything that matters: presets (the twelve signatures plus any preset saved on the TV), the full ten-band EQ, Bass Boost, Deep Bass, left–right Balance, Voice Enhancer, Volume Boost with Dynamic Gain Scaler — and the TV’s own master volume. Changes made on the TV, the phone, or the widget stay in sync live.

Widget & presets

How do I get the home-screen widget?

Long-press an empty spot on your home screen → Widgets → add StudioFeel Control. The PHONE | TV switch chooses what it drives; in TV mode it controls your paired television’s presets, Volume Boost and master volume. Resize it freely — every control stays visible at any size the launcher allows.

Custom presets — saving, colours, sharing?

Shape the sound, hit Save, name it, give it a note and a colour — the whole app wears your accent while it’s active. Presets export as portable .feq files you can send to anyone; they import in one tap. Per-device and per-app rules can auto-switch to any preset, yours included.

What is Match My Headphones?

A library of 30+ curated tunings for real models — Sennheiser HD 600 family, Sony WH-1000XM series, AirPods Pro 2 & Max, Bose QuietComfort, Beyerdynamic, AKG and more. Pick your gear once; StudioFeel lays its correction under whatever preset you play.

Price & privacy

What does StudioFeel cost?

StudioFeel is free to download on Google Play — no ads, no tracking. If anything about that ever changes, the app will tell you clearly first, in the app.

Where does my audio and data go?

Nowhere. All processing happens on your device; the phone↔TV link runs only over your own Wi-Fi. No ads, no tracking, no data sold, no cloud — the privacy policy says the same in long form.
